About me
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, frustrating, or simply not how we hoped it would be. We may struggle with anxiety, low mood, addiction, relationship difficulties, loss, trauma, or patterns that seem to repeat themselves despite our best efforts to change them.
All these issues are understandable, and it is normal to have problems, but they don't need to run your life. Reaching out for support takes courage and I will support you. Whether you are seeking help with a specific issue, or looking for deeper personal growth, we can work together to achieve recovery, change, autonomy and lasting wellbeing.
My approach is flexible and tailored to you. I have helped people achieve greater awareness, resilience and meaningful change for 30+ years. I use Transactional Analysis (TA), psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and relational approaches. I bring warmth, humanity and humour into my sessions.
Whatever brought you here, you've already taken the first step towards change - please reach out and we can take the next steps together. I offer a compassionate, collaborative space where difficult experiences can be explored safely, and where hope, humour and insight can support healing, build resilience and open up new possibilities.
I specialise in mental health, addiction and recovery, supporting people through challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, low self-esteem and life transitions. Therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and better understand yourself. Together, we will make sense of your experiences, build on your strengths and work towards meaningful, lasting change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have more than 30 years' experience helping people overcome mental health, addiction and life challenges. I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA). I also train and supervise therapists as a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (PTSTA).
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
