About me

Tell me your story - I am here to listen.

Addiction is a family disease. Whether you are the one trapped in a cycle of dependency or the exhausted partner carrying the burden alone—I understand.
My practice is built on a unique, trusted foundation: top-tier academic training, extensive frontline clinical experience, and profound personal lived experience.
The Professional: I hold a First-Class BA (Hons) in Counselling and am currently completing an MSc in Psychology at St Mary’s University. My clinical background includes years of frontline casework in substance addiction services, working as a Family Lead within residential rehabilitation, and operating as a specialist gambling practitioner for NECA.
The Personal: Alongside my qualifications, I spent 16 years as a carer for my late husband through his alcoholism, navigating the chaotic cycles of addiction and finding my own recovery through Al-Anon.

When you sit in a room with me, you are met with zero judgement, absolute confidentiality, and a therapist who truly knows how heavy this burden is.

How I Can Help You
I provide structured, evidence-based therapy tailored to your exact situation. I specialize deeply in:
Active Addiction Recovery: Breaking the psychological cycles of substance misuse, alcohol dependency, and gambling harms.
The Affected Partner/Family: Helping spouses and family members heal from relational trauma, step out of enabling traps, and rebuild their own lives.
Codependency & Boundaries: Giving you the practical, psychological tools to establish safe boundaries without guilt.

My Approach
I don’t offer a one-size-fits-all approach. While we target the behavioral cycles of addiction, we will safely explore the root causes driving them—including childhood trauma, deep-seated shame, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. Together, we will build a concrete, practical roadmap for long-term individual and family recovery.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Choosing a counsellor is an important decision, and I understand that finding someone you feel comfortable with can take time. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful counselling, so I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted and supported.

My practice is founded on compassion, authenticity and respect. I recognise that every person’s story is unique, and I work collaboratively with you to understand your experiences, strengths and goals. Therapy is not about giving advice or telling you what to do; it is about helping you gain insight, build resilience and discover your own capacity for growth and change.

I work with adults aged 16 and over and offer face-to-face, online and telephone counselling where appropriate. Whether you are seeking short-term support for a specific issue or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, we will work together at a pace that feels right for you.

I am committed to providing an inclusive, non-discriminatory service and welcome people from all backgrounds, cultures, identities and walks of life. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative and culturally sensitive, and I strive to ensure every client feels safe, valued and respected.

Regular clinical supervision and ongoing continuing professional development are integral to my work, ensuring that my practice remains ethical, reflective and informed by current research and best practice.

Tell me your story. I am here to listen.

If you’re considering counselling and would like to explore whether we’re a good fit, I welcome you to get in touch for an initial conversation. Taking that first step can feel difficult, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful and lasting change.
