About me

Hello, I’m Jo.

Finding the right therapist is about more than qualifications and approaches – it’s about finding someone you feel comfortable with and connected to. So, before I tell you what I do, let me tell you a little about who I am.

People often describe me as down-to-earth, genuine, authentic, fun and a little quirky. I believe life can be messy, complicated and sometimes overwhelming, and I don’t believe we need to have all the answers. What matters is having a safe space where we can be ourselves, explore what’s going on, and feel supported along the way.

I am an integrative creative therapist and supervisor, offering online and telephone counselling. My approach is holistic, recognising that our thoughts, emotions, physical experiences and deeper sense of self are all connected. Sometimes words are enough, and sometimes they aren’t. That’s why I blend talking therapy with creative approaches, mindfulness, body awareness and movement, helping clients explore themselves in ways that feel natural and meaningful for them.

My background includes teaching Exercise to Music fitness and Mindful Movement classes, and I have always been fascinated by the connection between emotional wellbeing and the body. This continues to shape my work today, alongside my ongoing training in Soma Breathwork.

I am also a spiritual person, and while spirituality doesn’t have to be part of our work together, I welcome conversations about meaning, purpose, connection and personal growth for those who wish to explore them.

Alongside my private practice, I work as part of the in-house counselling team for a local council, supporting people from many different backgrounds and life experiences.

Whether you’re feeling anxious, stuck, overwhelmed, lost, or simply curious about understanding yourself more deeply, I offer a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space where all parts of you are welcome.

I see therapy as a relationship built on trust, honesty and collaboration. My role isn’t to fix you or tell you what to do. Instead, I walk alongside you, helping you reconnect with your own inner wisdom, strengths and capacity for change.

If you’re looking for a therapist who is real, compassionate and brings both professionalism and personality into the counselling space, I’d love to hear from you.
