About me

Hello and welcome to my profile. I am an accredited member of BACP and an experienced psychotherapist and relationship therapist of 8 years, working with individuals, couples, and families.

My training and academic degrees are in Counselling & Psychotherapy, Business & Psychology and Relationship Therapy. Before opening up my practice I also worked at the Royal Free Hospital with the liaison psychiatric team.

Psychotherapy can be a life-changing experience. People start therapy for many different reasons. You may feel dissatisfied or distressed, want to explore the past, process difficult life events, achieve new goals or just learn more about yourself.

I place particular attention in developing a trusting, safe and collaborative relationship. In this supportive environment, we will work as a team to develop a shared understanding of your difficulties and identify how these difficulties affect your thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, feelings and daily functioning.

I ensure my approach is unique for each client, as my style of practice is Integrative. This means I draw from different psychotherapeutic modalities. My main focus is you, and for this reason I tailor the type of therapy to your needs and presenting issues.

I offer face to face sessions, as well as offering sessions online via Zoom.

A Recent Selection of Client Testimonials: (more available to read on my website and on my Google profile)

‘‘I’ve worked with Jemma for almost three years now and can honestly say these sessions have changed my life. I came in to see her suffering from anxiety and low self esteem around a relationship and am now happier and more confident than I’ve ever been. Would highly recommend Jemma!’’

‘‘I worked with Jemma through two really challenging years of my life, during which she supported me to understand why I was experiencing challenges with work, family and in romantic relationships. She is a truly empathetic, intelligent and understanding therapist who was really flexible in how we worked and ultimately helped me to build a stronger, more compassionate relationship with myself. I’ll always be grateful to Jemma for the changes that she helped me make to my life over this time and couldn’t recommend her highly enough.’’

‘‘Jemma has been the most supportive person ever. I saw Jemma every week for under a year, and what a journey she took me on! I have never met someone who just gets it and provides an outlook on things, which I never would have thought of. She is someone that listens and feels deeply for you. She is also someone I was 100% myself with and I owe a lot to her. After ending my time with Jemma, I felt and still do feel like a new person. Thank you, Jemma for being an amazing human.’’

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
