About me
I wonder what it’s like for you right now. A lot of people I speak to are experiencing anxiety, a state of depression, might feel overwhelmed, and often have coping mechanisms they want to change. Perhaps you have a clear idea of what you want to talk about but perhaps not, there isn't always a clear starting point. However you show up is OK with me.
I work according to Person Centred theory, which believes that all humans have an innate capacity for navigating our way through life but sometimes some extra time and the right conditions are helpful for it to flourish. This translates as a straightforward, organic approach, that supports you to find your way rather than directing you.
The first session is, as you might expect, about getting to know each other and seeing if I am the right therapist for you. You can ask me anything you want here or at any point. I know from personal experience that starting counselling can feel really daunting so perhaps we can arrange a chat and see where we go from there?
