MSc Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy, MBACP, PGCE

About me

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (MSc with Merit) and a registered BACP member, working with individual adults and children of all ages. I am also a qualified teacher with over 15 years’ experience in primary and secondary schools, where I supported many children with SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Down syndrome, and emotional or behavioural difficulties, as well as those affected by trauma. This background gives me a deep understanding of the emotional and educational challenges young people often face.

My approach is integrative and relational at heart. I draw primarily on person-centred, CBT and psychodynamic therapies, and also bring in elements of Gestalt, existential thinking, creative methods, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and nutrition. I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is what makes lasting change possible, and I support clients to find their own insights in their own time. I use psychoeducation when helpful and keep my practice up to date through regular reading and CPD.

With children and young people I often use play therapy, sand therapy and art therapy, as these creative approaches help express what can be hard to put into words — and they can be powerful for adults too.

I can also offer gentle bodywork such as reflexology, aromatherapy massage and Indian head massage. Research shows that touch-based therapies can calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety and ease the physical tension that frequently accompanies emotional pain. Combined with talking therapy, mindfulness and attention to nutrition, this mind-body approach supports healing and helps clients create space from past traumas.

Whether you are a child, teenager or adult, my aim is to offer a safe, genuine space where you can feel more settled, more connected to yourself, and a little lighter as you move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

I offer a warm, confidential, and collaborative space where you can feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Our first 30-minute evaluation session will be held online and is free of charge. This gives us both the opportunity to meet, see if we feel comfortable working together, and decide whether I am the right therapist for you.

I usually begin working with clients online. Once we have built trust and feel comfortable with each other, we can then choose the most suitable way of working. This may include home visits, sessions at my practice, outdoor therapy, or walking therapy, depending on what feels most supportive for you.

With children and young people, I mainly work from home using play therapy, sand tray therapy, and art therapy to help them express themselves naturally. With adults, I support issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, childhood abuse, relationship difficulties, addiction, OCD, affairs, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), bereavement, and high levels of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), developmental trauma, relational trauma, and attachment trauma.

I previously provided school-based counselling support to both pupils and teachers. I currently work for a well-known agency specialising in young people’s therapy and couples therapy, offering individual and relational support to clients dealing with a wide range of emotional and psychological issues.

I deeply value your unique experience, feelings, and emotions, and I trust in the power of the therapeutic relationship to gently bring light to the areas that need healing.

I offer reduced rates of £45 for students, people with disabilities, and those on low incomes.
