About me

Hi, my name is Hermione. I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. I am the Founder of Potentilla Wellbeing Centre and deliver face to face and online sessions here.

I offer warmth, unconditional positive regard and empathy in our sessions together which are led by you. I hold the belief that all human beings have a natural tendency to move towards change and growth. I provide a genuine and compassionate safe space in our unique therapeutic relationship which aids your self-reflection, encourages better self-awareness and helps you process your emotions.

Practice description:

In sessions we can talk about any issues you may be experiencing and can include things such as your relationships, your childhood, how you are feeling, your thoughts, past life events or things you find difficult. People also find therapy helpful for personal growth and development.

First session:

Our first session together will be an initial consultation. This session is for me to understand what you hope to get from therapy, helps you decide whether I am the right therapist for you and helps us plan and agree goals together for the therapeutic work.

In this session, I will ask you what has brought you to therapy, discuss the issues you want to explore and what you need from therapy. I may ask you about your background to ensure the services I offer are right for you.

How I deliver therapy:

Face-to-face and online.

Availability:

Call or email for an initial consultation on 0796 173 7297.

Training, qualifications & experience

My integrative style means I can draw on techniques from:

  • Person-centred Approach
  • Gestalt Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

In this way I can help support you as we explore your presenting problems or difficulties. Person-centred Approach is at the core of my model of working and is my way of being and relating with clients.

I have a passion for supporting people on their own journey of development and I have experience in offering psychological therapy at a Community Interest Company for holistic therapeutic services, a university health and wellbeing centre and a health service.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
