About me

Hi, my name is Hermione. I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. I am the Founder of Potentilla Wellbeing Centre. I specialise in working with anxiety, low mood and stress management.

I offer warmth, unconditional positive regard and empathy in our sessions together which are led by you. I hold the belief that all human beings have a natural tendency to move towards change and growth. I provide a genuine and compassionate safe space in our unique therapeutic relationship which aids your self-reflection, encourages better self-awareness and helps you process your emotions.

I also have experience supporting clients with personal development, resilience skills to help cope with life challenges, building on coping strategies for emotional regulation, navigating life changes and transitions, highlighting achievements for inner strength building, rebalancing inner conflicts and moving forwards to become unstuck.

I work collaboratively with you and our session are a co-exploration around your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I work at your pace and invite you to share how you think and feel our work together is going, to ensure you’re getting the most from our sessions.

Practice description:

After receiving your enquiry, I will aim to respond to you within 48 hours by sending you a follow up email from my private practice email address: admin@potentillawellbeingcentre.co.uk to arrange our 20-minute complimentary initial consultation. Please check your emails, including the spam/junk folder after reaching out.

In sessions, we can talk about any issues you may be experiencing and can include things such as your childhood, past life events impacting you now and things you find difficult.

First session:

Our first meet is the initial consultation. This is for me to understand what you hope to get from therapy, helps you decide whether I am the right therapist for you and helps us plan and agree goals together for the therapeutic work.

I will ask you what has brought you to therapy, we can discuss the issues you want to explore and what you need from therapy. I may ask you about your background to ensure the services I offer are right for you.

We can then schedule in our regular sessions.

How I deliver therapy:

Experience working with a private healthcare provider and insurance providers, delivering short term, solution focused therapy.

Prior to counselling, I have experience in senior positions within healthcare and healthcare regulation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
