About me
Feeling anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? Struggling with relationships or big life questions?
I am a Gestalt psychotherapeutic counsellor offering therapy for adults in hybrid form (online with in-person sessions in Cambridge and London most of the year, and Mexico City during the summer). I offer therapy in English and Spanish.
As a therapist, I aim to create an affirming and anti-oppressive space for everyone, and have particular experience working with clients exploring questions around identity, gender and sexuality. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and abide by their ethical framework.
In counselling, I offer a confidential, supportive space where we can work collaboratively and without judgement to explore at your own pace whatever feels important to you. Rather than interpreting your past, we focus on making sense of how things are now so that new possibilities and choices can emerge.
If you are curious about whether therapy together might be helpful, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange a no-fee, twenty-minute online conversation to see whether working together might feel right.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked with clients from many other communities through organisations including Mind and The Gestalt Centre London and in private practice. I work in English and Spanish.
Alongside my counselling practice, I am also a sociologist of music (PhD, University of Cambridge) and have composed music for film and theatre.
My background in music and ethnographic research shapes my interest in listening closely to how people experience their lives, relationships and identities.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
