About us

Heathwell Therapies is a counselling and psychotherapy clinic offering therapy for adults, adolescents, couples, and families. We work both in person from our Blackheath Village clinic in Southeast London and online throughout the UK and Europe.

Our team brings together experienced therapists with different professional backgrounds, specialist trainings, and therapeutic approaches. We believe that effective therapy is not one-size-fits-all, which is why we take care to match clients with a therapist whose expertise and way of working best fits their needs and preferences.

We support clients with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life transitions, bereavement, family issues, and neurodiversity.

We have a strong specialism in relationship therapy and couples counselling. Our therapists work with couples experiencing communication difficulties, recurring conflict, emotional disconnection, intimacy concerns, life transitions, and trust issues. We have particular expertise in supporting individuals and couples affected by infidelity and betrayal trauma, helping partners make sense of what has happened, navigate the emotional impact of the rupture, and decide how they wish to move forward.

We also have extensive experience working with neurodiverse and mixed-neurotype couples, including relationships where one or both partners have ADHD or autism. Our therapists understand the unique challenges that can arise around communication, emotional regulation, intimacy, executive functioning, sensory differences, and differing relational needs.

Alongside relationship work, we offer specialist support for

  • ADHD
  • narcissistic abuse recovery
  • relational trauma
  • psychosexual difficulties
  • adolescent mental health
  • men's mental health
  • women's mental health
  • anxiety, depression and
  • difficulties relating to identity, meaning, and life transitions.

As a multidisciplinary clinic, we offer a range of therapeutic approaches to suit different clients and presenting issues. These include CBT, EMDR, Art Therapy, Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), Psychosexual Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Integrative Therapy, Humanistic and Existential Therapy, and specialist couples therapy models.

Appointments are available in person in Blackheath Village and online throughout the UK and Europe. We offer both short-term and longer-term therapy and provide a personalised matching service to help clients find the therapist best suited to their needs. With a team of therapists working across different schedules, we are able to offer flexible appointment times.

Member organisations *

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
