About me
The process of seeking and finding professional counselling and therapy can be daunting, but you have already taken the first step!
My counselling process is client focused and tailored. You and your personal journey are unique, therefore there is no "one size fits all" approach in my therapy space. Although I have had a long and varied education into counselling, psychology and social forces, I remain convinced by a fact that I learned on the first day of my degree. It is often not the method of counselling which predicts a benefit to our clients, but the relationship between client and practitioner.
There are, however some aspects of my work which are present with all clients, forming a base to build deep trust upon.
Empathy - the connective and healing feeling of being taken seriously, being heard and understood. On some level, I can feel what you are feeling.
Congruence - when you are talking to me, you are experiencing who I truly am, not an entirely curated version of me. A genuine working relationship comes from honesty.
Unconditional Value - the things you reveal to me, whether they come from light or shadow, will not impact the way I feel about you. All parts of you are welcome in this space.
Laughter - the therapy space can be intense, but as a huge fan of comedy I often find myself engaging in lightness and humour with my clients when appropriate. I believe that the things which make us laugh are just as revealing as the things which make us cry!
