About me
Do you find the world too busy, stressful and noisy? Do you feel anxious or frustrated much of the time? Or is it a sense of flatness, lacking in purpose and feeling disconnected? Therapy can feel like applying some noise cancelling headphones allowing you the time to pause, reconnect, reflect and then grow once more. I offer a space where you can feel heard and treated with care and respect in a safe and confidential setting with no judgement.
I believe that people hold great wisdom and given time and space the answers we crave can be found within us. When we feel lost and confused, we are told that we need to seek others to tell us what to do. It is my belief that the greatest benefit of a powerful therapeutic relationship is we begin to reconnect with ourselves again; re-discovering that clarity and power from within.
Working within the NHS for many years, counselling the staff, I have a breadth of experience working with many diverse issues from anxiety, depression, OCD, managing anger, coping with grief, shame, guilt, addictions, gender diversity, body-dysmorphic disorder and a general sense of disconnect to the world and people around us; working around the quality of our relationships both to ourselves and others.
For those people that prefer being outdoors I offer Eco-therapy. We can either take to a quiet stretch of the Sussex countryside by foot or be sat in amongst it, breathing in nature and all its glory. Nature has been shown to be deeply restorative whilst the act of walking and talking can really help with processing thoughts and feelings.
Working from a Humanistic modality, I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) registered Counsellor and as a member I am bound by its Ethical Framework for good practice and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure. To comply with GDPR, I am registered with the ICO as a data controller so that all your information is kept securely.
My counselling room is in Bosham, near to the harbour and surrounded by nature and the countryside. I also offer online and telephone sessions, if you feel that would benefit your situation more.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help and it can feel a difficult decision finding the right therapist. With this in mind, I offer a free 30-minute chat where we can talk through any concerns alongside looking at how we can best work together.
At this point, you can go away and decide if we will be a good fit. If not, this is absolutely fine, and I can try and help you find someone more suitable.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
