About me

A warm, down-to-earth space to explore what has been weighing on you

You may be feeling anxious, low, or emotionally overwhelmed, or perhaps you’re noticing patterns in your relationships or sense of self that you don’t fully understand. Whatever brings you to counselling, you don’t need to face it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you and help untangle and make sense of what’s been going on.

I’m an integrative, trauma-informed counsellor with a person-centred core, offering a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore what’s going on for you. I work online and in person from a confidential and private space in both Kingston-Upon-Thames (KT2 6LG) and Hinchley Wood, Esher (KT10 0SH)

How I Work

My style is collaborative and thoughtful. I aim to offer therapy that feels human and grounded, rather than clinical or overwhelming.

I integrate;

  • Person-centred therapy as the foundation of my work
  • Psychodynamic approaches to explore deeper patterns and early experiences
  • TA, Parts work and inner child work to build self-understanding and self-compassion
  • Trauma-informed practice, supported by additional training

Sessions with me will be at a pace that feels right for you, with care and curiosity rather than pressure.

What I can help with

  • Anxiety and stress
  • ADHD, ASD, AuDHD
  • Low self-esteem and self-doubt
  • Depression
  • Identity issues
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Feeling stuck or disconnected

Why choose me?

It can be a difficult decision to choose a therapist with so many options available. You might feel comfortable working with me if you value a therapist who is;

  • Warm, grounded, and easy to talk to
  • Attentive to emotional safety and boundaries
  • Interested in understanding you as a whole person
  • Supportive, without judgment or agenda

Taking the first step

You don’t need a clear goal or a perfect explanation of what’s wrong before starting counselling. An initial session is simply a chance to see how it feels to talk together and whether I feel like the right fit for you.

If you’re thinking about reaching out, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I’ll respond with care and without any pressure to book in.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

The First Session

The first session is charged at the usual rate and offers us a chance to begin getting to know one another. We will explore what has brought you to therapy at this time and whether working together feels like the right fit for you. I will also be able to let you know whether my practice and experience are suited to what you are looking for.

During the initial session, I will ask some questions to help me understand more about you, your circumstances, and any potential risks to your wellbeing. This is a routine part of therapy and helps me to ensure that the work we do together is as safe, supportive, and relevant as possible. While I may guide parts of the session, I will also be led by you and by what feels most important for you to bring.

Many people find the first session can feel a little daunting, so be reassured that we will take things at a pace that feels manageable for you.

If we agree to work together and you feel that I am the right therapist for you, I will email you a copy of my counselling agreement and ask for some contact details. Both of these documents will need to be signed and returned before your next session. You are welcome to ask questions about this at any time.

I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term open-ended psychotherapy, depending on your individual needs. Beginning with a commitment of around 6-12 sessions of therapy is often the most helpful, as it allows time to build a therapeutic relationship and start creating meaningful change. That said, counselling is not a fixed commitment, therapy can be ended at any point, and sessions can continue for as long as you find them helpful and meaningful in your life.
