About me

Georgina Hannah (she/her)

Do you want a space to truly be yourself and move the thoughts from words in your head to spoken words with somebody listening?

I offer an inclusive friendly space for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity or religious beliefs to explore themselves and try out a different way of thinking and being.

I can work with those in immediate crisis and those who want to explore feeling generally better in life and create change for themselves, it's not always easy or quick but with work it is possible.

I work with all issues having experience in a breadth of topics, such as; gender reassignment, race, sexuality, depression and anxiety, bereavement, self-harm, suicide ideation, sexual abuse, pre and post-natal emotional support, and childhood trauma.

I have predominantly worked in charitable and educational settings with children from 10 - 18 years old which has led me to be creative, inventive and intuitive in my way of working. Many of the adults I have worked with over the years have appreciated this refreshing aspect of our work together.

As a psychotherapeutic counsellor, I will listen to you and together we will build a trusting respectful space which then allows for challenge and change in; perspective, behaviour or life choices.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
