About me
We often find that life will sooner, or later, challenge us with unexpected adjustments, psychological pain, turmoil, relationship difficulties and/or mental and physical health difficulties or traumas. Despite our significant resources we can find ourselves emotionally depleted, feeling overwhelmed or unable to manage our emotions adequately. We can be left struggling to believe in ourselves and lead a meaningful life
My name is Filip Pasterski and I am an Integrative psychotherapist and an Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner.
I have extensive experience of working with clients within an inpatient hospital setting and a variety of psychological service settings. I have both substantial experience in the NHS and the private sector.
Currently, alongside my work at the Priory Wellbeing Centre on Harley Street, I provide online private psychotherapeutic assessments and therapy. I also offer individual and group supervision for EMDR.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training at the School of Psychotherapy & Psychology at Regent’s University afforded me a broad and focused grounding in humanistic, existential, phenomenological, psychodynamic and integrative therapies.
My clinical placements both in the NHS and at the Priory Hospital Roehampton ranged from working with models such as psychodynamic, cognitive analytic and cognitive behavioural therapies; the latter including third-wave therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness.
Regular work with either interpreters or in a foreign language has deepened my awareness of and sharpened my sensitivity to working cross-culturally.
I completed my training in EMDR in 2009. I now have a special interest in this approach and I am a fully accredited practitioner.
Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
