About me

Welcome to my profile and counselling practice.

I'm Faye and I am a qualified Psychodynamic Therapist based both online and in West Oxfordshire. You may have found my profile as you are finding life difficult right now. Perhaps you are feeling trapped and everything feels very overwhelming and anxiety provoking. Maybe you are frightened by the thought of your future, or struggling to make sense of your past.

I can offer you the empathy, emotional support and secure space you need to help you through your struggle and personal exploration.

You may come with a particular focus or during a life crisis. Alternatively, you might want to use our sessions to reflect, explore and deepen your understanding of yourself. I work both short term and long term, and I work particularly well with millennials (aged 18-40) who have experienced an unusual or dysfunctional childhood, or narcissistic parenting. If you are struggling with social anxiety or this is your first time seeking therapy, we might also be a good match.

My personal approach is focused on uncovering and exploring unconscious memories and behaviours that influence our present actions, thoughts and relationships. When we learn about the origins of our behaviour, we increase our self awareness and so put ourselves in a better position to create long-lasting change and growth. I will work alongside you to establish a deeply human and unique relationship that is based on honesty, intimacy and a genuine interest in you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained both academically and clinically at the organisation Gloucestershire Counselling Service which is an accredited service. I received my Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling following 3 years of study and training. I am a Registered Member of the BACP (Registration Number 386336).

I have an additional qualification in short term counselling for people who want to focus on a particular issue. I am currently training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist - Individual.

I work with a wide range of people and issues, and my particular area of specialism is working with people in their late teens, twenties and thirties who are coming to counselling for the first time and have experienced childhood dysfunction, narcissistic parenting or periods of anxiety/depressions. I have also worked with psychosomatic conditions, chronic pain and dissociation.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
