About me

Hi, my name is Ellie, (She/Her). I’m so glad you’ve chosen to take time for yourself in therapy! I am a Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a deeply empathetic and real approach to supporting people in the challenges life can bring. If you choose to work with me, my hope is that during our time together you will grow to feel comfortable in exploring the way you think and feel while making sense of what impacts you. My practice is focused on creating a space that feels warm, accepting and non-judgemental. Life can be messy and full of uncertainties, therapy can support you by having someone in your corner, sorting through the mess with you. It's a safe space to navigate challenging emotions, develop resilience, create space between your thoughts feelings and reactions and explore new ways of thinking.

We can work together to explore your experiences both past and present, in order to help you navigate your emotions and work towards feeling empowered in your choices. Whether you're unsure of what's brought you to therapy or you're experiencing anxiety, feelings of stuck-ness, negative patterns of behaviour, trouble in relationships, pain and loss, we can figure it out together - at your pace.

My practice is humanistic and relational - meaning I keep our relationship at the heart of our work together. I incorporate humanistic and trauma-informed theoretical models into my approach and always aim to tailor to the unique needs of the individual in front of me.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor and registered member of the BACP offering individual therapy for adults.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
