About me

Hello, I’m David. I’m a therapist, but more than that, I’m a fellow traveler on this complex journey of life, one who has found immense meaning and growth in the therapeutic process.

Six years ago, I reached a point where my life felt unmanageable, adrift without direction. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but I knew I needed help. I found a therapist—through this very site, no less—and from that initial meeting, a door opened. I stepped into the world of therapy, and what I encountered there felt nothing short of magical. It wasn’t always smooth or easy, but it was transformative. I found answers to questions I had unknowingly carried with me for a lifetime.

As I peeled back the layers of my own experience, I discovered a deep passion for the work of therapy itself. It was as though the act of turning inward, of truly seeing and being seen, stirred something long dormant within me. Therapy allowed me to explore not only my inner world but also my long-standing love for the human condition—its mysteries, its sufferings, its beauty.

Always fascinated by human life, creative arts, and philosophy, I realized that therapy was the perfect space where these passions intersected. My own therapeutic journey inspired me to train as an integrative counsellor, blending various approaches to meet the unique stories each person brings into the room. During my training, I worked in an addiction centre, learning from those grappling with some of life’s deepest challenges. I’ve since worked with many others, each person teaching me as much as I hope I’ve given in return.

At heart, I am deeply moved by humanity—by the courage it takes to face oneself, by the connections we form, by the innate resilience in people. I love people in all their complexity, and it is my privilege to now offer back the gift I received from my own experience with therapy.

If you feel drawn to work with me, I invite you to a free 20-minute video call. Together, we can explore whether this feels right for you.

Take the first step—let’s explore this journey together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained a degree in Integrative Counselling with the University of Worcester in which I won a scholarship for Academic Excellence. I have also completed a certificate in counselling with the Iron Mill College. I am continually attending further training to keep my skills up to date and refreshed.

I have experience with many different people. I am particularly skilled at working with reducing anxiety and depression, addiction and highly creative or intelligent clients. If I feel that I won't be the right therapist to help you, I will tell you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
