About me

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or feelings of being stuck, perhaps due to unresolved past experiences or current life challenges? Do you find yourself impacted by work or home life, perhaps your role is demanding, or you're exposed to secondary trauma through your position?

Therapy with me can be a safe space to make sense of what you are thinking and feeling. You may want to be heard and understood without judgment, have greater confidence in navigating relationships and life's transitions or you are seeking tools to help yourself and better manage difficult thoughts. If this sounds like you, make contact today and we can find a time and date that works for you.

I am currently working online so we can do together regardless of your location.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from Inter-Psyche Training Institute and a Masters in Psychology. I’m a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

I offer an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs of each client. My core practice is person-centred, meaning I provide a confidential space with empathy, unconditional positive regard and congruence as the foundation of our work together. I integrate this approach with Cognitive, Psychodynamic and Existential approaches.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Having worked in the emergency services for 10 years I can offer a space that can support those also in emergency service roles. Sometimes our use of acronyms, the uniqueness of our interaction with others or our frequent exposure to secondary trauma can feel difficult for others to understand. Therefore I look to use my emergency service experience to provide you with that understanding.
