About me

Hello, I'm Danielle – a Creative Art Therapist, Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a background in psychology, education and creative therapies.

I believe therapy doesn't have to mean sitting opposite someone and finding the perfect words. Sometimes our feelings are difficult to explain, and that's where creativity, play, curiosity and connection can make all the difference.

My approach is warm, compassionate, down-to-earth and occasionally a little playful. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can be yourself, explore your experiences and begin to make sense of whatever life is throwing your way.

I work integratively, drawing upon different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual's needs rather than expecting everyone to fit into the same model.

How I can help

My work includes supporting children, young people and adults, individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety, stress and emotional overwhelm
  • Autism, ADHD and neurodivergence
  • Low self-esteem and confidence difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties, separation and loss
  • Grief, bereavement and significant life changes
  • Emotional regulation and sensory differences
  • Difficulties expressing or understanding emotions
  • School-related anxiety and social challenges

With experience across therapeutic and educational settings, I recognise that everyone experiences the world differently.

My approach

I combine talking therapy with creative and expressive techniques where appropriate, including art, play, storytelling and other therapeutic activities.

You don't need to be artistic, confident or even know where to begin. Therapy is about discovering what works for you.

I am particularly passionate about neurodiversity-affirming practice, helping individuals recognise their strengths, understand their needs and develop greater confidence in who they are.

Above all, I believe that meaningful therapeutic relationships are built upon trust, authenticity, empathy and feeling genuinely heard.

Professional experience

I also have experience working within independent and mainstream school environments, supporting individuals with a range of emotional, developmental and additional needs.

Alongside my therapeutic practice, I work as an academic lecturer at ARU College, bringing together my interests in psychology, creativity, education and personal development.

My training and experience allow me to take a holistic, person-centred and neurodiversity-affirming approach to therapeutic work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

A little more about me

Before becoming a therapist, my journey began in the creative arts, and creativity remains a huge part of who I am and how I work. ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR.

I'm naturally curious about people, their experiences and what makes each of us unique. I believe that therapy should feel human, collaborative and accessible rather than overly clinical or intimidating.

I have a particular interest in neurodiversity, emotional wellbeing, identity and the ways creativity can support communication, self-expression and personal growth.

What to expect

Our sessions will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There is no pressure to share everything immediately, no expectation to have all the answers and certainly no need to pretend that everything is fine.

Some sessions may involve talking, while others may incorporate creative activities, reflection or practical strategies.

Whether you're seeking support for yourself or your child, my aim is to provide a welcoming environment where you feel respected, understood and supported.

Taking the first step

Finding the right therapist is important. I welcome initial enquiries so we can explore what you're looking for and whether my approach might be a good fit.

Sometimes the smallest step towards understanding ourselves can lead to meaningful change.
