About me
Hello, I’m Craig, a fully qualified psychotherapist based in central Sheffield, offering talking and creative therapy to work with your problems.
Everyday life can be challenging, often leaving us struggling with stress, anxiety and generally overwhelmed. At times we might feel stuck or out of sync, lack confidence or motivation or feel unsure how to move forwards. Past issues and trauma can lead to depression or leave us unsure how to reconnect with life happening around us.
I can offer help to explore these issues and support adults, young people and children.
How I can Help
I provide a calm space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, free from judgement. I can help you to explore and make sense of what's troubling you, work through concerns and move towards change.
I am a qualified Art Psychotherapist and can offer a creative art approach alongside talking therapy.
Whether it's increasing self-awareness, building self-esteem and confidence, or strengthening resilience and developing the tools you need to cope.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy uses art materials alongside talking to explore feelings in a safe way. It's not about an end product and you're not expected to be good at art.
Exploring art and craft materials offers a way to express feelings when words aren't enough and is useful if you are unsure what your thoughts and feelings mean. Using art and craft materials can help to access unconscious feelings and can support recovery in strengthening and reforming your sense of self. It can be especially useful to help children to express their feelings who may struggle otherwise.
My Approach
I am friendly and accepting giving you respect and freedom to be yourself.
I work with a collaborative and non-directional approach. This means that we work together and focus on the things you need as an individual. It can involve exploring your current situation and experiences and exploring the past to understand how earlier experiences affect where you are now.
Getting Started
The first session allows us to get to know each other. You will get a sense of what it’s like to work with me and choose whether you feel I’m the right therapist for you. It also gives me a chance to begin to understand your issues and concerns and to see if my skills and experience are what you need. You can also explore creative materials if it feels right.
Please contact me for information about online therapy.
When we've booked your initial session, I’ll email you details of our working arrangements. I'm happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have about my service. Taking the first step can be tough but please do get in touch with any queries or to book a session. I look forward to hearing from you.
