About me

Welcome to my profile. I'm delighted that you are ready to embark on a journey towards extraordinary relationships, both with yourself and others. I am here to support you every steps of the way by facilitating a space for growth, healing, and transformation.

My name is Corinne Lukomski. I have been practicing as a clinical psychologist for 25 years. I live in the Southwest of England, near Dorchester. I work with clients face to face and remotely with Zoom.
I work with with individuals and any type of relationships (couples, parents, siblings, colleagues...) and on a variety of issues, such as trauma, self-esteem, confidence, anxiety, communication, parenting, conflict, intimacy etc...

My approach to therapy is largely informed by mindfulness, self compassion and the RLT model developed by Terry Real

Mindfulness helps to become more aware of our triggers and able to develop a capacity to deal with them more rationally. Overtime and with regular practice it becomes easier to recognise our usual/automatic patterns of thinking/ reacting and to create a distance so we no longer react automatically.

Developing self-compassion is important to move away from the usual harshness of self-talk to more self-esteem and warmth towards ourselves. We would never talk to a friend who is suffering, with harshness, yet we do that to ourselves all the time. Developing self-compassion give us permission to attend to our own vulnerability with loving kindness. In time it support our growth towards feeling that we are good enough.

RLT therapy look at each partner family of origin, and how early attachments inform the way you show up in your relationships.  This awareness of your knee jerk reactions during times of stress and conflict will encourage you to shift towards more thoughtful and considered responses, leading to more positive and fulfilling interactions. RLT opens up new avenues to unlock the secrets of sustained intimacy through communication, self-discovery, and love. One of the RLT saying is that relationship therapy usually equips people with skills. RLT on the other hand deals with the part of you that turns away from those skills when you need them the most.

I also always use a Person-Centred approach. I listen very carefully to what you say and how you feel. As a result, you may see more clearly what’s going on for you and what you need and want to move forward and resolve your issues. During that process, I follow your lead and always work at your own pace.
