About me
Hello, I’m Clare. I am an experienced BABCP-accredited CBT therapist. I am also trained in EMDR. My aim is to support you to recover from the difficulty you are experiencing so that you can get back to who you are and what is important to you.
I have worked in adult mental health since 2014 and have 10 years of private, local authority and NHS experience combined.
CBT is an evidence-based, structured and goal-focused therapy that focuses on links between thoughts, emotions and behaviours, recognising that what we think, feel and do in the present is influenced by past experiences.
During therapy, we explore unhelpful cycles and break them down treating each area, we cover strategies for you to use outside of the session to improve your mood and maintain progress. The main focus is on treating difficulties that are affecting you in the present day, and providing you with skills and insights so that you can be your own therapist.
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy used to process traumatic or distressing memories that are affecting you in the present day.
If you have any questions or are interested in booking a session please get in touch!
