About me

Hello, welcome to my counselling profile. My name is Claire, I am a person-centred counsellor. I provide online and telephone counselling sessions where you will always be at the heart of the therapy.

What is Person-centred Therapy?

The person-centred approach is based on empathy and unconditional positive regard, which means I will listen with warmth and compassion and offer a non-judgmental space where you can explore your innermost thoughts and feelings.

Negative thoughts and feelings can be energetically stored within the body, which can impact our mental health and well-being. I have always been fascinated by the connection between the mind, body, and spirit since discovering Reiki many years ago. Nurturing our energy and listening to the messages within our soul is essential to the healing process. My approach involves working closely with your energy and exploring the connection between emotions and your body's felt sense, which can provide you with more tools to understand and process feelings.

How Counselling can help you

It can be hard to openly share problems and feelings like grief or anxiety with family and friends. However, the therapeutic relationship can provide a safe place to explore emotions and thought patterns. I work intuitively, gently encouraging you to listen to your inner wisdom.

What I offer

I aim to create an online space where you feel seen and heard and can begin to find some clarity. Counselling is a collaborative process where we can work together to process your inner world, where you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your emotions, and your intuition.

I specialise in working with adults, supporting you in addressing a range of issues such as grief, relationship challenges, anxiety, and depression.

I believe you are the expert on your own life and have the strength and resilience to overcome challenges, and I will walk alongside you, supporting you on that journey.

I understand that counselling can feel daunting but I am here to support you with the process by offering a free 20-minute telephone call.

Please feel free to contact me to ask questions to help you determine if I am the right counsellor for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
