Psychotherapist/Clinical Supervisor

About me

I am an integrative-relational psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, senior counselling lecturer and trainer, offering a warm, thoughtful and professional space for individuals seeking support with emotional, relational and psychological difficulties. My work is grounded in the belief that therapy is not about “fixing” a person, but about creating a safe and respectful relationship where you can feel heard, understood and supported as you make sense of your experiences.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected from yourself or others, or struggling with relationships, trauma, identity, loss, stress, shame or life transitions. Sometimes the difficulty is clear; at other times, it may simply feel that something is heavy, confusing or hard to carry alone. My approach is gentle, collaborative and human. We work at your pace, with sensitivity to what feels manageable, while also creating enough structure to help the work feel safe and purposeful.

As an integrative-relational practitioner, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, attachment theory, object relations, CBT, transactional analysis, existential therapy, trauma-informed practice and other evidence-informed models. Rather than applying one fixed method to everyone, I tailor the therapy to your individual needs, history, hopes and way of relating. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself: how trust is built, how patterns are understood, and how new ways of relating to yourself and others may begin to emerge.

My professional background includes extensive experience in counselling and psychotherapy practice, clinical supervision, counselling education and psychological training. I have worked with adults from diverse backgrounds and have particular interest in relational patterns, attachment wounds, trauma, emotional abuse and neglect, self-esteem, identity, culture, difference and belonging. My practice is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally sensitive and anti-discriminatory. I aim to offer a space where all parts of your experience can be approached with curiosity, care and respect.

Alongside my therapeutic work, I provide clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. My supervision style is reflective, supportive and ethically grounded. I draw on integrative-relational principles and the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision to help practitioners think about the client, the therapeutic relationship, the counsellor’s own process, wider systems and professional responsibilities. I see supervision as a collaborative space for growth, accountability, confidence-building and compassionate professional development.

My personality and way of working are often described as calm, thoughtful, empathic and steady. I value honesty, warmth and clarity, and I bring both professional knowledge and genuine human presence into the therapy room. Whether you are seeking counselling, psychotherapy or supervision, my aim is to provide a respectful and confidential space where you do not have to perform, minimise or manage everything alone.

If something feels difficult to understand or carry, we can take time to explore it together - gently, carefully and at a pace that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Training, Qualifications and Experience

I am an integrative-relational psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, senior counselling lecturer and trainer, with a professional background in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology and counselling education. My work is grounded in an integrative-relational approach, which means I do not believe in using a “one size fits all” model of therapy. Instead, I draw from a range of therapeutic theories and clinical understandings to meet each person as an individual.

My approach is informed by person-centred therapy, psychodynamic and psychoanalytic thinking, object relations, attachment theory, CBT, transactional analysis, existential therapy, trauma-informed practice and other evidence-informed models. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship. I believe that meaningful change often begins when a person feels genuinely heard, understood and accepted within a safe and respectful relationship.

I work in a calm, thoughtful and collaborative way. My aim is not to tell you what to do, but to help you make sense of your experiences, emotional patterns, relationships and inner world. Together, we can explore what feels painful, confusing or difficult to carry, while moving at a pace that feels manageable and safe.

Qualifications and Professional Background

My professional background includes training and experience in counselling and psychotherapy, clinical and counselling psychology, supervision, teaching and therapeutic training. I have worked across private practice, education, training and organisational settings, supporting both clients and developing practitioners.

I am professionally grounded in ethical, reflective and evidence-informed practice. My work is guided by professional standards, including confidentiality, clear boundaries, respect, anti-discriminatory practice and ongoing professional development. I have a strong interest in relational and attachment-based work, trauma, emotional abuse and neglect, identity, culture, belonging, self-esteem, shame, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and life transitions.

Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience as a senior counselling lecturer and trainer, teaching counselling and psychotherapy students across different levels of professional training. This has strengthened my ability to explain psychological ideas in a clear, relatable and practical way, without losing depth or professionalism.

Clinical Experience and Psychotherapy Practice

In my psychotherapy practice, I work with adults who may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, trauma, relational difficulties, emotional overwhelm, loss, identity concerns, or a sense of feeling stuck. Some clients come with a clear issue they want to work on; others come because they know something does not feel right, even if they cannot yet put it into words.

My style is warm, steady and compassionate. I offer a space where you do not have to perform, minimise your feelings or have everything worked out before beginning. Therapy can provide time to understand yourself more deeply, notice repeated patterns, process painful experiences and develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and others.

Supervision and Professional Development

I also offer clinical supervision for trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists. My supervision practice is integrative-relational and informed by the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision. I provide a reflective, supportive and ethically grounded space to explore client work, therapeutic relationships, practitioner development, professional boundaries, ethical responsibilities and the wider systems surrounding the work.

My supervision style is collaborative, respectful and developmental. I aim to support practitioners to grow in confidence, deepen their clinical thinking and remain connected to both ethical practice and their own humanity as therapists.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
