About me

Experienced in working with a range of issues including anxiety, low mood, depression, low self-confidence, bereavement, relationship issues, loss and grief. I offer a calm, compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore the issues affecting your life. We will work together to find ways to reach your goals in a way that fits best for you.

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor using integrative techniques to create a therapy designed to meet your unique needs. A registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I work to their ethical framework. 

In addition, I am a member of the Association for counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO) and am qualified to offer video and telephone counselling.

I have worked with a range of issues including; anxiety, depression, procrastination, relationship issues, autism and bereavement. Previous experience includes working with individuals or their loved ones affected by cancer. In the past I have worked with and been a trustee of a charity supporting individuals affected by a rare neurological condition. I understand the impact of long-term or sudden onset illness and how this can affect someone's life.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I have successfully supported FE/HE college students reach their goals and complete their courses for a number of years. While I do not work with LGBTQI+ issues I do welcome members of this community to my practice.
