About me

Hello, my name is Christina, and I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the BACP based in London.

Areas I work with

I offer counselling to clients with a variation of issues and concerns for example but not limited to, anxiety, depression, burnout, LGBTQQ+, cultural identity, life challenges, relationship issues, life changing experiences, mental health conditions, trauma, and bereavement.

The first session

In our initial counselling session, we'll focus on understanding your experiences, concerns, and goals. I'll explain the counselling process, address any questions you have, and discuss confidentiality. It's an opportunity for us to build a trusting relationship, ensuring you feel comfortable and supported throughout our work together.

Finally

I aim for your therapeutic journey with me to be a safe, non-judgemental, open, and gentle space where you can connect and explore your thoughts and feelings.

Whether you are facing a challenging phase in your life, suffer from anxiety or depression, want to improve your emotional health, change recurring patterns of thought or behaviour, have relationship issues, or perhaps need to talk to someone in a confidential environment – contact me, therapy can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

My Approach

My approach to counselling and psychotherapy is integrative which means I draw upon knowledge from psychodynamic and humanistic theories combining traditional and experiential techniques.

My Experience

I have experience working with individuals from all different walks of life. Alongside my private practice I work with NHS and low cost clients at Mind, an addiction agency, and I have experience working with young people in an adolescent and after care team.

How I Work With You

My work is uniquely tailored to your nature and the issues you bring, I work holistically and I seek to explore how your immediate issues fit into the bigger picture of your life. I work creatively and collaboratively, as I believe therapy can be enjoyable.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Introductory Call

In an introductory call, I aim to get to know you better and it’s an opportunity for us to explore your goals, reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and what you hope to achieve. The process is collaborative and you're encouraged to ask questions and express any concerns. This initial conversation helps us decide if we're a good fit for each other and sets the foundation for our therapeutic journey together.
