About me
Hi, I’m Carly. I’m a psychodynamic therapist, and I also work with relationship and psychosexual therapy clients. My practice is a real, down-to-earth space where you can explore what is going on for you in a way that makes sense and without all the jargon.
You could be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself or others, or unsure how to make sense of patterns that keep repeating. Therapy with me is collaborative and honest. I aim to offer empathy and safety, while also keeping things real, human and grounded- with a mix of gentleness and challenge.
In individual therapy, I work flexibly and creatively to suit your needs. Alongside talking therapy, this might include using art materials, timelines, inner child work or other creative approaches to help you express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. We will evolve as we go and adapt to whatever comes up for you in the room.
In relationship therapy, I support couples, partners and people in different relationship structures to explore communication difficulties, recurring conflict, trust, intimacy, affairs, jealousy, attachment patterns, life transitions, separation and feeling distant or disconnected.
I provide affirmative relationship therapy for the LGBTQIA+ , ENM community, kink-aware and sex-positive therapy.
In psychosexual therapy, I can help you explore concerns around desire, arousal, sexual confidence, pain, vaginismus, erectile difficulties, ejaculation concerns, orgasm, sexual shame, differences in libido, the impact of trauma, changes after illness or life events, and difficulties talking about sex. We can work at a pace that feels safe, with space to understand what may be happening emotionally, relationally and physically. Kink aware and sex-positive therapy.
If you are thinking about getting in touch, you do not need to know exactly what to say. You are welcome to contact me with a brief message, and we can take it from there. I always respond, so please check your junk folder if you do not hear back from me.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

I offer face to face sessions at two different locations in Burton on Trent.
I also offer online sessions, telephone sessions and email.
I offer a free 10 minute phone call where we an have a chat, you can ask any questions and we can see if we feel we are suited to work together.
Then on our first session we'll go through a more in depth assessment so i can fully understand your needs and to see how best to move forward
