About me
I’m Carla, a qualified integrative counsellor working with adults and young people aged 13+.
I believe counselling should offer a space where you can be yourself, without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out. My approach is warm, down-to-earth and individual to you. I work relationally and creatively, adapting therapy to suit the person rather than expecting you to fit into a particular way of working.
Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, grief or loss, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, significant life changes, or simply feeling overwhelmed or stuck, I offer a safe and confidential space where we can explore what is happening for you at your own pace.
Adult Counselling
I support adults experiencing a range of emotional and life difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, grief and bereavement, infertility and pregnancy loss, and significant life changes.
I have a particular interest in grief and loss and recognise that loss can take many forms. I also have an interest in working with neurodivergent adults, including those with ADHD and autism, providing a space to explore areas such as overwhelm, masking, emotional regulation, relationships, self-esteem and identity.
My approach is integrative, drawing mainly from person-centred, relational and CBT-informed approaches. Most importantly, I want counselling to feel like a space where you can talk honestly, feel heard and begin to understand yourself and your experiences more fully.
Young People (13+)
I work therapeutically with young people from the age of 13 and bring 20 years’ professional experience of supporting children, young people and families.
I understand that teenagers don’t always find it easy to put their feelings into words. Difficulties may show themselves through anxiety, withdrawal, anger, overwhelm, low self-esteem, school-related difficulties, changes in relationships or simply feeling that something isn’t right.
I work creatively and adapt sessions to the individual young person, recognising that talking does not have to be the only way to communicate in counselling.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent young people, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, school-related stress, grief and loss, family or peer difficulties and emotional overwhelm.
My focus is on building a trusting relationship where the young person feels heard, respected and accepted for who they are.
My practice is integrative, with a person-centred and relational foundation alongside CBT-informed and creative approaches. I tailor the way I work to each individual client and aim to provide counselling that feels genuine and supportive.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
