About me

Hi I’m Camilla, a Relationship and Psychosexual Psychotherapist, Wellbeing Educator and Coach passionate about supporting Relationships, Well-being and finding a ‘Life-Work fit’ throughout my working career. Initially qualifying as a Medical Doctor I have worked in the NHS for over a decade and navigated my practice now to working purely as a Relationship and Psychosexual Psychotherapist, Well-being /mental health Educator and Coach.

Registered as a member of BACP and COSRT my therapeutic trainings are Integrative, Psychodynamic and Systemic. Essentially this means I focus on supporting individuals with a range of tools, consider less conscious and historic influences to thinking and behaviour and approach things in a facilitative, curious and non-judgemental way- aware of familial and group dynamics.

My approach starts with an initial session where we will consider the focus of work together and how we fit to start therapy or coaching. I encourage clear contracting and review across sessions, appreciative of agile therapeutic practice and needing to change direction as indicated.

I have specialised interest in supporting Individuals and Relationships therapeutically:

-At transition- approaching a stage of commitment, flux, endings or when facing a significant life stressor e.g. illness, affairs, redundancy, caring responsibility, bereavement.

- Struggling with fertility or the journey towards expanding family in any way e.g. adoption.

- Managing life 'child free' voluntarily or involuntarily +/- alongside menopause.

- Managing life across the early years of parenthood.

-Navigating Life-Work fit when taking a career break, experiencing a illness or/and managing caring responsibilities.

-Seeking specific changes in finding identity and authenticity in working, building confidence in the workplace and setting boundaries.

Training, qualifications & experience

Humbled by the individuals and relationships I have worked with, I have lived the integrative journey I carry in to my practice. When not finding me here I work as a therapist in a relationship therapy charity, as a trustee for a mental health charity and as a mental health educator and coach in the NHS.

Past experiences that I honour include working as a doctor and/or therapist across all of life experiences from birth to end of life, with specific focus supporting those with mental illness and previously leading a NHS Psychosexual Service.

My Qualifications include:

BMBS, Medical Degree, Brighton and Sussex Medical School

BSc Experimental Psychology, University of Sussex

PGDip Clinical Education, Brighton and Sussex Medical School

Dip Relationship Counselling, Relate

Dip Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, LDPRT

REACH Coaching for Proficiency, SLAM partners, EMCC Practitioner level

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
