----

Initially qualifying as a Medical Doctor I have worked in the NHS for over a decade in mental health, including time leading a Psychosexual Therapy service. In addition to my private practice I also currently work in NHS mental health education in London training healthcare professionals; in charity locally in Surrey, as a therapist and trustee, and for a national charity supporting individuals wellbeing in group courses post cancer treatment.

Registered as a member of BACP and COSRT my trainings are Integrative, Psychodynamic and Systemic. I hold a 'pluralistic perspective' utilising a range of therapeutic approaches to best support your needs, considering current challenges and less conscious /historic influences. I work relationally with a facilitative, curious, inclusive, affirming and non-judgemental /depathologising and trauma informed approach; aimed toward growth, acceptance and empowerment. I also provide forest therapy to provide a enhanced 'being space' and extend my emphasis on relational wellbeing through connection with nature.

For all services I offer a free introductory call (/zoom) of 15-20 minutes to provide a space to answer any questions about working together. My approach includes clear contracting and review throughout therapy or coaching, appreciative of agile practice and needing to change direction as indicated. Session length generally is around 50mins, but can expand to 90mins for family/ group sessions. I offer single session work, short to longer term (6+months), working weekly to biweekly for therapy and monthly for coaching. I also offer some intensive work across school holidays on request.

Member organisations

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

As a Relationship Therapist I hold the core, and evidence held belief, that the outcomes of therapy are largely dependent on the therapeutic relationship itself. It is imperative to me that the space we create together feels safe enough, affirmative, inclusive and strength based. In addition to offering a free introductory call I welcome questions about my practice at all stages of working together; inviting feedback and open dialogue throughout sessions to work most effectively.
