About me
Choosing a counsellor can feel a bit overwhelming, a lot of the language seems complicated and meaningless if you aren't a counsellor yourself.
I am a Pluralistic Psychotherapist- this means that I have trained to have a range of different skills so that I can adapt my way of working to match you and your needs. We work together to explore what you want to get from counselling, what has helped you before, and to create a path that matches who you are.
I specialise in Neurodivergence, disability and Adult relationships. I work with children and adults, adapting to meet your lived experience.
Neurodivergence. This includes medically diagnosed or self diagnosed. This might be Autism, ADHD, Tourettes, OCD, FND, Bipolar, Aphantasia or just a feeling that you might be different but not knowing what it is.
In-person. You come to my office and we talk together here.
Online. Using teams, you can attend the session from your own home or safe place.
Eco Therapy. We would meet outdoors, locally in North Aberdeenshire. This may include walking or sitting somewhere quiet. This works well for people who prefer to be outside, like to move as they talk.
Animal assisted therapy. We have a therapy cat who can come along to your session, he may choose to sit with you, or might sit in his cat tree. He has the freedom to choose his contact. It can help you if you find it easier to talk to animals than people. In some situations you can bring your own pet if you find they help you feel safe.
Equine Assisted Therapy. Spending time around our horse, Cody. He may or may not decide to come join us. This will be an out doors session and runs May- October.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
