About me
Hello, my name is Anthony, and I am an integrative relational counsellor and therapist. This means that I draw on a number of different styles and models of counselling practice to enable my clients to achieve the changes or reach the solutions and goals they may wish to reach within themselves.
I work online, face to face, walk and talk, and I am in the process of creating a retreat for clients to come for more immersive experiences that would include creative work, walk and talk, and the use of nature in general as a tool to re set oneself emotionally.
As we go through life, new experiences and challenges arrive on our doorstep, and it can be difficult to understand our feelings, emotions, and our reactions to these challenges. I am here to help you work through the process of making positive change, learning to understand how the past may be affecting the here and now with you and to help you navigate uncharted waters.
If you are feeling depressed, anxious, struggling with addiction, suffering from loss, then I may be able to help you work through your thought processes and enable you to make sense and make positive changes that will help you to lead a more stable and productive lifestyle.
The hub of my practice approach is person-centred, meaning that you, the client is the focus of attention, not myself and theoretical knowledge. The spokes of the wheel in my approach to counselling involve utilising other theoretical models if and when appropriate in meeting your needs within the therapeutic experience. You are the expert on yourself after all.
You will see and hear the term, ‘working together in a pluralistic way’ or ‘working pluralistically together’. What does that mean?
Well simply put, it means we we would work collaboratively and select various methods and styles of therapy and counselling practice, review whether what we are doing together is working for you, and adapt as necessary.
There are a multitude of counselling and therapy approaches, it is about finding what works for you the client, and I as your therapist.
At the end of the day, the most important ingredient in therapy and counselling is the relationship between the client and their chosen therapist.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
