About me

Taking the step to explore how you meet the world through therapy is a brave choice and I meet that bravery with respect and empathy, to support and guide you to a place of increased awareness and fullfilment.

Together, in the non-judgemental and nurturing space I will create for you, we will journey through your unique story. I will approach our work together in the here and now, looking at past experiences and their impact on you in the present. Starting with grounding and stabilisation, we can move to explore and then process past traumas, increasing understanding and awareness around when behaviours were learnt, how they impact you now and how to let go of the narratives that no longer serve you.

My core training is in Gestalt; a holistic and creative form of therapy. I also pull from person-centred, humanistic and an existentialist approach. Through dialogue, active curiosity, mindfulness, creative techniques and exercises, we will explore how you relate to yourself and the world.

I work with a broad range of individuals, and have expertise in working with low self-steem , neurodivergence (ADHD, Autism, dyslexia), trauma, helping to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and depression as well as chronic illness, relational issues, workplace issues and burnout. As a person of mixed heritage, I have a passion for working with cultural identity and issues around belonging, cultural differences and intersectionality.

To start your journey with me, I provide a free, no-commitment 15-20 minute telephone consultation to explore how working together might feel and identify the best approach and structure for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained Gestalt Integrative Counsellor and Registered BACP Member (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and a Registered member of the BAATN (Black, African and Asian Therapy Network).

I trained on the Counselling Programme at The Gestalt Centre London, a leading UK provider of psychotherapeutic training. I have the following qualifications:

  • Certificate in Humanistic Counselling
  • Diploma in Gestalt Counselling

Alongside my work in private practice, I have experience working in an NHS setting working with anxiety and depression. I am also working as a counsellor in an agency dealing with issues of cultural identity and trauma.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
