About me

Welcome – I’m Ana Ochoa de Eribe
Registered Psychotherapist & Counsellor (MBACP)
English & Spanish | In-person (Derbyshire) & Online

Since 2001, I’ve been supporting people just like you - individuals facing emotional pain, big life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from themselves. Whatever you're going through, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, breathe, and start to reconnect with who you truly are.

You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Together, we can explore what’s been holding you back, release what no longer serves you, and begin to create a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and grounded in your authentic self.

How I Can Support You

Individual Therapy

We’ll start where you are - looking at what’s happening in your life right now and how it’s affecting you emotionally and physically. If deeper issues like childhood trauma or long-held emotional patterns come up, we’ll gently explore and heal them together. You don’t have to carry these old burdens anymore.

Intensive Somatic Therapy

If you're ready for deeper healing, these three-hour sessions offer the space to release trauma held in the body. Through this gentle, grounded work, you can experience more emotional freedom, physical ease, and a deeper connection to yourself.

Healing Parent - Adult Child Relationships

Your earliest relationships - especially with your parents - shape how you relate to yourself and others. Even if your parents are no longer in your life (or were never present), healing these dynamics can free up a huge amount of emotional energy.

I offer individual, joint (parent and adult child), and group sessions to help you:

  • Stop people-pleasing or rebelling out of fear
  • Understand where tension or emotional reactivity comes from
  • Reclaim your natural, confident self without guilt or shame
  • Whether you're exploring your relationship with your mother, father, or both, I’ll help you find your own voice and respond to life from a more grounded place.

Couples Therapy

If both of you are ready to grow, I can help you break unhelpful patterns, restore trust, and build the emotional closeness you long for. Often, our early relationships influence how we relate in our partnerships today - we’ll explore that gently, while focusing on what’s possible now.

Workshops & Support Groups

Sometimes healing is even more powerful when shared. I offer:

  • Mother–Daughter & Women’s Workshops: Safe spaces for reflection, growth, and connection
  • Parent - Adult Child Pair Sessions: Brave, transformative work for those ready to reconnect
  • Therapy Support Groups: A space to continue your growth, share your journey, and feel less alone

What I Can Help With

You might be experiencing one or more of the following:

  • Anxiety, depression, stress, or burnout
  • Childhood or intergenerational trauma
  • Emotional disconnection or low self-worth
  • Grief or prolonged bereavement
  • Relationship struggles, including narcissism, co-dependency, or estrangement
  • Feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of your purpose
  • Desire for personal growth and emotional maturity. Difficulty setting healthy boundaries

I’ll always meet you with warmth, compassion, and respect.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Counselling (2001) and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have gained extensive experience working in a variety of settings, including schools, charities, a psychodynamic therapeutic community, and a psychiatric hospital, as well as with individuals affected by domestic violence. I currently offer both in-person and online private therapy in a multicultural environment, with a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity.

My work also involves creating and facilitating workshops, such as the Mother-Adult Daughter Relationship Workshops, which I have led in both the UK and Spain. Additionally, I have developed a unique and transformative Father-Adult Daughter Relationship Healing Workshop. I am currently working with Father-Adult Son and Mother-Adult Son relationships.

I have experience working with couples facing challenges such as compulsive sexual behaviour, infidelity, and improving communication skills. As a transpersonal psychotherapist, I can help you integrate the psychological and spiritual in ways that are meaningful to you. I offer Christian Counselling or a Buddhist perspective for those who wish to integrate spirituality into the therapeutic process. I am also open to working with clients from other faiths and those with deep personal values.

I am dedicated to ongoing professional development (CPD) to stay current with the latest therapeutic approaches. My work is collaborative, using a variety of tools and modalities tailored to each individual. I also use sand therapy and the Transformation Game for self-discovery and healing. It's amazing for me to witness the transformation that unfolds in a safe, non-judgmental space. When someone is ready, life starts to shift in powerful ways.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
