About me
I am a professional counsellor and non religious celebrant living and working in rural Scotland. Prior to training as a therapist, I was a Steiner Waldorf teacher and writer. I came to Psychology by way of storytelling and I am Jungian at heart, transpersonal in practice.
I treat depression, anxiety, grief and spiritual crisis through right relationship within a therapeutic alliance. I strongly focus on integrating personality fractures by healing trauma.
The transpersonal psychotherapy model is secular but spiritually inclusive. It works well for those who have some hope or grounding belief in some kind of higher purpose (though not necessarily religious faith).
Traditionally, Psychosynthesis practitioners credit Love and Will as the magic that heals human suffering. Therefore, we treat people rather than symptoms; it's more effective. I am attachment aware, trauma informed and 12 steps friendly. Ultimately, I deal in heartbreak, it just takes different forms for different people.
So, come as you are, bring whatever you're with, and we shall drink tea and chat.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters in Psychology and a PGDip in Counselling as well as a BA in English, teaching and professional celebrant certificates.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
