About me

I am a qualified individual and couple psychodynamic psychotherapist and I specialise in working with couples and individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships.

Life can be challenging, and we all face moments when we could use some extra support. Whether you're dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply seeking personal growth and self-discovery, I'm here to assist you on your journey.

Couple Therapy

Relationships can be challenging and there are many different reasons why you may be thinking of relationship or couple therapy. Some of these might include:

  • Arguing more frequently and/or having repetitive arguments
  • Thinking about and exploring next steps in your relationship
  • Lack of intimacy and/or loss of emotional connection between you and your partner
  • Infidelity
  • Life changes and difficulties: trying for or having a baby, employment concerns, illness, ongoing effects of Covid-19 and lockdown, retirement
  • Personal development: Exploring previous relationships and understanding more about your relationship patterns

Individual Therapy

There are many different reasons why you might consider having therapy. Some of these might include:

  • Personal development
  • Self-exploration; including sexuality and gender
  • Understanding your relationship patterns and habits
  • Dissatisfaction with previous/current relationships (romantic, family, friends)
  • Life transitions
  • Feeling depressed, anxious, stressed
  • Feeling lonely or isolated
  • Dealing with trauma

How I Work

Building a trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients is of the upmost importance to me and helps you to get the most out of the therapy. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can talk and be listened to empathically about the challenging issues and difficulties they are facing in their relationship(s).

I will observe, ask questions, and provide a reflective space with the aim of deepening your understanding about your relationship dynamic and unblocking communication, so you can develop the tools needed to solve your problems together.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
