About me

I have gained immeasurable experience working with individuals who have been deeply traumatised from past events and experiences. The psychological affect of trauma can result for example in memory loss, substance misuse, flashbacks, panic attacks, fear and anxiety. My role with you is to examine how your traumatic experience impacts on your life now and in the past; to help make meaning of the experience; how to manage symptoms and develop new ways of coping, and through our therapeutic relationship begin to rebuild the ability to trust.

In addition to trauma work, as a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, life & career coach I can offer you a spectrum of support to meet your needs. Both approaches can help you to gain better clarity about the problems you are facing; greater awareness of how the past influences the present; help to identify the obstacles that are preventing you from moving forward; learning to challenge your limited beliefs and behaviours; identifying your personal goals; finding solutions that are right for you; and addressing emotional difficulties that are affecting your life.

I have experience working with a range of difficulties including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Unresolved trauma, managing ADHD, anxiety disorder, panic attacks, attachment issues, sexual, emotional & psychological abuse, living with dyslexia, the critical voice, relationships, issues related to unworthiness and lack of self confidence.

Forming a trusting and confidential relationship will allow you to feel safe to talk about what is worrying you.
I believe that we can achieve a more satisfying life, better relationships, and grow in confidence to make the changes we need and want in our lives. With the right support your self-understanding can strengthen your ability to handle challenging situations and overcome the effects of traumatic events and difficult past experiences.

That said, it can be hard to make changes when life feels overwhelming or crisis ensues and you're not sure what to do. At these times, the support of a compassionate, engaged therapist, who will strive to understand your unique experience, and support you through the sometimes tough, sometimes exhilarating work of change, growth and recovery - can make a difference. What matters is that you get the help you need so you can manage your difficulties better and have a healthier sense of well-being.
