About me

Struggling with life?

Your own coping mechanisms don’t seem to be working?

Feeling overwhelmed?

Ready to deal with something from your past that might be holding you back?

I’m Rabina and I’m here to support you when things get in the way of YOU being YOU…

Over my 12 years of experience in professional counselling I’ve identified 3 main approaches that I feel have the biggest impact on, and make the biggest difference to those that I work with: CBT, Internal Family Systems and Bodynamics.

CBT focuses on the problems in the here and now, and looks for practical ways people can improve life on a daily basis, it’s aims is to help people manage their problems by changing how they think and behave.

Internal Family Systems is based on the premise that we all have several parts living within us that fulfil both healthy and unhealthy roles. Life events or trauma, however, can force us out of those healthy roles into extreme roles. The good news is that these internal roles are not static and can change with time and work.

Bodynamics is a somatic psychology approach, it deals with the very nature of how we interact and relate with our selves, others and our environment, how we decide what is important in our lives, and how we make decisions and what kind of relationships we get into.

The overall aim of any therapy is for to make some space for you to find you, to regain you, to become resilient and learn how to be better at being you – it is all about YOU.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
