About me

Deciding to see a counsellor can sometimes be a hard decision to make. There are many myths around and I understand that this situation can provoke some anxiety. Our first session would help you to feel more at ease and to decide if I am the right therapist for you. The counselling process would be about you and your need for a change (whatever that is) so I would like to ensure you feel comfortable with me.

I have gained experience in working with issues such as loneliness, body image, low self esteem, bereavement, anger, frustration, sexual orientation, sex addiction, binge drinking, substance misuse, lack of meaning, stress, borderline personality disorder, suicides – self harm,  anxiety and depression. I am ready to work with whatever you present though. The therapy would be about the problems you want to explore and what you have found disturbing.

Before I qualified as a counsellor, I held the post of the bank manager. I have also worked in accounting but counselling and psychotherapy are my passion. I have been helping my clients for several years and have found it very rewarding and fulfilling. I have worked with people coming from a variety of backgrounds and different religions. My clients have been homo-, hetero-, bisexual and transgender and have come from Asia, Africa, Australia and Europe. My non-judgmental attitude, ability to empathise and my knowledge allow clients to feel comfortable and safe.

For those clients who would like to know more about my therapeutic background – I am a humanistic and cognitive behavioural (including mindfulness) counsellor. Although I am fully qualified I strive to enhance my practice all the time. I attend different training and courses on a regular basis. Some of them have been related to substance misuse, sexual abuse, sexual health training, mindfulness, working with male victims & survivors, monogamous & non-monogamous relationships, STORM suicides prevention or BDSM / kink relationship training.
