Profile
Welcome to my profile. I am a friendly and experienced professional providing individual, couples and group counselling from my private practise in Stockport and Chorlton.
Can counselling help me?
Counselling and psychotherapy can help and support you to make the positive changes that you want in life but taking the first steps can be incredibly daunting. You may feel like you don't know what you are letting yourself in for. Having counselling does not mean that there is anything wrong with you. Many people find it helpful at some point in their life.
About Me
I have been seeing clients since my clinical endorsement in Nov 2008 and utilise a branch of psychotherapy known as Transactional Analysis (TA). TA helps you to explore your own thoughts, feelings and behaviours using a variety of practical techniques that can be modified to match your individual needs.
My client work is inspired by my own life changing therapy journey and the very positive impact that I have felt in all areas of my life. The aim of my work is to support you to connect with your past and present experiences so that you may strengthen and heal yourself to achieve the changes in life that you want.
I work with with adults, young people, couples and groups and my areas of interest and expertise are:
Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Depression
Bereavement and Loss
Anger management
Workplace stress
Family and Relationships issues
Surviving sexual, physical and emotional abuse
Low self-confidence and self-esteem
Why choose me?
Finding the right therapist for you is really important and you need to feel comfortable in order to build up a trusting relationship.
I offer you an initial free 30 minute session. This enables you to make contact and talk about what it is you want to bring to therapy, ask any questions and decide if I am the therapist for you.
I am fully committed to providing a high quality professional service in a safe, calm and comfortable environment. My clients often comment that my style is warm, caring, supportive and accepting.
How long will I need to come for?
The number of sessions that people have varies from person to person and can be anything from a few weeks to help you through a specific event or for several years.
I offer both short solution focused and long term therapy to suit your needs. We will review our work together regularly so that you are getting the most out of your sessions.
