About Counselling and how I can help
There may be times in your life when cracks begin to appear, and you are finding it difficult to understand the over whelming feelings that are lying heavily upon you. These feelings could be representing past or present difficulties that are affecting your well being.
You may be feeling lost, stuck, lacking in confidence, maybe there is a heaviness resting upon you that you are finding difficult to lift. Oppressive and complex situations may make you feel that you lack direction in your life.
Counselling gives you the space to explore these feelings in a safe and non judgemental setting. Exploration of one's self can sometimes help to release these feelings, which may have been buried away - sometimes for many years, and can help you to discover who you really are, and indeed the person that you were born to be.
Exploring one's self can sometimes be a difficult but equally a rewarding experience that once brought into your awareness can help you to understand yourself and indeed others better. Working integratively I use different approaches to counselling including Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis. I may also use some gentle challenging which I hope can help you to find the answers you may be looking for, and to help you to make sense of your difficulties.
If you have or are suffering under the weight of any of the above mentioned, then please allow me to help reintroduce you to yourself - and meet the real you. I hope that I can assist you into your new journey of self discovery, growth and change, hopefully enhancing your quality of life.
The therapeutic relationship that we share together on your journey is also extremely important. I hope that you will feel heard and understood and that you will experience me as a real and genuine person and feel comfortable in the knowledge that all that you share is private and confidential.
