Frances Taylor MBACP - Dip. Therapeutic Counselling, Dip. Substance Misuse
I am an experienced Counsellor working from a client centred base, incorporating aspects of CBT and Psychodynamic therapy tailored to your individual needs.
Experienced in working in NHS settings. Sessions available at flexible times. Includes evenings and weekend appointments to fit around your schedule.
Would you like a space just for you, to share your feelings with someone where there is empathy and understanding, a journey with enhanced listening and the freedom to release whatever is weighing you down? Maybe you have been considering talking to someone but felt unsure which way to turn, to take the first step towards therapeutic support.
As an experienced Therapeutic Counsellor, I'm skilled in providing support to children, young people and adults, tailored to individual needs and concerns you have. I work Integratively from a Core Humanistic Base, also known as client centred therapy. This enables you as client to manage the work, and know where you may wish for support or challenge, to recognise changes and areas you might like to focus on. As well as being a member of the BACP, I have passed the certificate of proficiency, an enhanced level of quality in practice.
I am also a Qualified Substance Misuse Counsellor and trained Bereavement Counsellor. I recognise the difficulties faced in the process of grief and coping with loss. The feelings of anxiety, sadness, depression, anger, disbelief and shock. I am able to support those struggling with addictions across the scale, from seeking recovery, abstinence and the journey along the way. I work with addictions and related patterns, such as the impacts on your relationships.
A trained school Counsellor, working with children of all ages. I work in Primary and Secondary schools, a specialist centre with talking and creative therapies, local services and other settings with children ,young people and adults.
I started my journey working with Complex Mental Health issues within the South London and Maudesley Trust.
I provide one to one counselling for both long and shorter term work. This could be a structured contract of 6-10 sessions, or ongoing where there are issues you would like to explore in more depth. There is no time limit.
I have over 20 years experience working with diverse communities, and incorporate culture and faith into my work as therapist. I have worked with clients with Complex Mental Health needs and those whose first language is not English. I support access to therapy for local minority groups, and Women's health. I have a particular interest in this area, including post natal depression, children of a post natal mother and related attachment issues, and impact of women's health conditions on the mind and body.
I have worked extensively within complex bereavement, schools, substance misuse and addictions and general counselling services. As well as talking therapies, I use creative tools, play therapy, sand trays and chair work. I encourage clients bringing what they need too, such as music, keepsakes and memorials.
The therapy space is calm and welcoming, with ample parking and direct transport links.
My practice in Sidcup is in the High Street, with parking and public transport on the doorstep.
I have a central location in Bromley town centre. The rooms are relaxing and cosy. Close to all amenities and transport.
Home visits also available.
I cover all local areas - including Swanley, Dartford and local villages, Sidcup, Bromley, Bexley, Eltham, Sevenoaks, Orpington, Lewisham, and surrounding towns. I am able to see you if you are in another borough or local area too.
