Frances Taylor MBACP - Dip. Therapeutic Counselling, Dip. Substance Misuse
Would you like to have a space just for you, to share your story with someone where there is empathy and understanding, a journey with enhanced listening and the freedom to release whatever is weighing you down?
Maybe you have considered talking to someone but feel unsure which way to turn, to take the first step towards therapeutic support.
I have availability for new clients, including a couple of new spaces on Saturdays, which do get booked up quickly.
This is flexible around the needs of Kent and London children too with term variations.
I am an experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, who is skilled in providing support to children, young people and adults, tailored to individual needs and concerns a client has. I work Integratively from a Core Humanistic Base, also known as client centred therapy. This enables you as client to manage the work, and know where you may wish for support or challenge, to recognise changes and areas you might like to focus on. As well as being a member of the BACP, I have passed the certificate of proficiency, an enhanced level of quality in practice.
I am also a Qualified Substance Misuse Counsellor and trained Bereavement Counsellor. I recognise the difficulties faced in the process of grief and coping with loss. The feelings of depression, anger, disbelief and shock. I am able to support those struggling with addictions across the scale, from seeking recovery, abstinence and the journey along the way. I work with all addictions and related patterns, such as the impacts on your relationships.
I am a trained experienced school Counsellor, having worked with children of all ages. I work in Primary and Secondary schools, local services and other settings with children and young people.
I provide one to one counselling for both long and shorter term work. This could be a structured contract of 6-10 sessions, or ongoing where there are issues you would like to explore in more depth. There is no time limit.
I can also provide Family sessions and Group therapy sessions, and specialise in bereavement, transition and substance misuse groups. I also have experience working with post natal depression and children in groups.
I have over 20 years experience working with diverse communities, and incorporate culture and faith into my work as therapist. I have worked with clients with Complex Mental Health needs and those whose first language is not English. I support access to therapy for local minority groups, and Women's health. I have a particular interest in this area, including post natal depression, children of a post natal mother and related attachment issues, and impact of women's health conditions on the mind and body.
I work with children, young people and adults of all ages. I have worked extensively within complex bereavement, schools, substance misuse and addictions and general counselling services. As well as talking therapies, I use creative tools, play therapy, drama and masks, sand trays and chair work. I encourage clients bringing what they need too, such as music, keepsakes and memorials.
The therapy space is calm and welcoming, with parking and direct transport links.
Just Therapy in Sidcup is in the High Street, benefitting from parking and great bus and train links on the doorstep.
I am based in Swanley town centre for client work there, so it is a perfect location, in a brand new community hub. Parking next door and buses, the train station is 5 minutes walk.
I have a central location in Bromley too, ideal for working with clients of all ages. The rooms are relaxing and cosy.
I cover all local areas - including Swanley, all of Dartford and villages, Sidcup, Bromley, Bexley, Eltham, Sevenoaks, Orpington, Tonbridge, Maidstone, Thurrock , Lewisham and all surrounding towns. I am able to see you if you are in another borough or local area too.
