About me
Hi I’m Beverley. I am an experienced person-centred practitioner and supervisor offering one to one counselling for adults of all ages, student counsellors and supervision for both trainees and qualified professionals. Are you hoping someone will listen? Perhaps your situation or issues are making you feel isolated because those around you don’t appear to understand? It could be now that it is time to talk to someone who is impartial and remote from family, friends, peers or colleagues.
I will offer you a safe confidential space in which the time will be yours to share your concerns with me and together we will explore them at your pace until you feel clearer and more confident to manage your life again in a fully functioning capacity. Whatever it is you wish to discuss I will listen to you with empathy, sincerity and acceptance. I am passionate about my work and I use my knowledge of theory and practical skills in a creative, eclectic style to facilitate you through a positive counselling experience.
Throughout my professional history I have a lifelong involvement with people in a variety of contexts including the NHS, education, voluntary youth services and mental health charity sectors. I have a deep appreciation of the importance of psychological, emotional and physical wellbeing and also the lengths we often have to go to, to achieve it so that we feel able to appreciate and participate in life to the full.
I am experienced in short, medium and long term therapy and I can help with a variety of issues among them: stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loss of confidence, relationships, issues in the workplace or learning environment, loss, bereavement and grief, anger, adolescent issues, body image, self-harm.
I am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I adhere to their Ethical Framework.
I am committed to my professional practice and undertake continuous professional development (CPD), personal development and regular supervision in accordance with BACP guidelines.
I have professional indemnity insurance.
If you are considering counselling please do call or email me for an informal chat if you have further questions/queries or would like to book an introductory session.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
