Welcome to my profile page.
My name is Anthony Davids and I am a UKCP registered Core Process Psychotherapist offering Buddhist based Psychotherapy. I have therapy rooms in Bushey, Hertfordshire, WD23 and Bethnal Green, London E2.
Mental health is very much in the media these days as awareness of the stresses and strains of everyday life are now being more acknowledged. Depression, anxiety, loneliness and feelings of overwhelm seem to be more prevalent and seeking the support and understanding of friends and family or colleagues may be difficult. If this is your experience then speaking to a registered therapist may help.
Core Process Psychotherapy is an contemplative, psycho-spiritual approach that combines the curative power of joint awareness practice between therapist and client with western psychological and psychotherapeutic theory. The word "core" refers to the inherent freedom and joy at the heart of our being and "Process" is about the exploration of any suffering and our pathway back to this freedom and joy.
Core Process Psychotherapy enables us to be present to our current experience and explores how our past conditioning may affect us. It also provides an opportunity to challenge our perhaps habitual responses which may have at one time been crucial to our survival but which now inhibit us causing suffering and discontentment.
As an experienced psychotherapist, I endeavour to offer you the support you may need to explore any difficulties you may be experiencing and through the confidential and non judgemental therapeutic relationship, we can begin to rediscover the true sense of who we are and reconnect to the freedom and joy at the heart of our being.
Seeing a psychotherapist or counsellor can open up new opportunities, and offer the chance to experience a deep sense of well-being and contentment. The therapeutic exploration will include exploring the conscious and unconscious processes and any somatic experiencing that you have whilst finding out what is resourcing for you as we utilise the grounding techniques found in meditation and contemplation, all of which can help bring about clarity, insight and transformation.
Why do people see a psychotherapist?
People see a psychotherapist or a counsellor for many different reasons, such as the territories of anxiety, stress, depression, relationship difficulties, panic attacks, phobias or a general sense of feeling sad, just to name a few. You may just want to explore and understand yourself better, but whatever the reason, people have found that a reflective enquiry into their thoughts and feelings can open up a greater understanding which can provide an opportunity for change.
Who do I work with?
I work with individuals and couples with the intention to enable you to to live life more fully with a greater sense of wellbeing, potential and happiness.
