About me

Hello I’m Ann

I am an Integrative counsellor,NLP Practitioner and Clinical Hypnotherapist.  I use a blend of theoretical models in my approach to counselling.   I have provided counselling and psychological services since 2010. My training included modules in Psychodynamic and person centered counselling, CBT, transactional analysis and solution focussed therapy,NLP coaching and Hypnosis

In addiction to online services by now Zoom or FaceTime I have now resumed seeing clients from my home in Llandudno

I am registered with the BACP and the GHR and strictly adhere to their framework and guidelines.

As an integrative therapist I am trained in using a blend of powerful therapies including relaxation, hypnosis and NLP to help create the outcome you want. I have always been interested in psychology and how the subconscious programs and conditioning from our past affect us in the present. I am passionate about helping my clients to achieve harmony and happiness in their life's and to realise their dreams and full potential. I specialise in working with:

  • anxiety and stress issues
  • Relationship and family problems
  • depression and phobias
  • habits of addictions.
  • life changes

My clients come from all walks of life, however they all have one thing in common in that they want to feel happier and healthier.  They want help to overcome obstacles and setbacks. They want help to change.  Some of the issues that people seek help for are listed below

  • current life crises such as breakdown of relationships
  • anxiety and stress related conditions
  • low confidence and self esteem
  • habits of addictions.
  • life changes
  • anger or emotional issues
  • depression

'Its good to talk' a phrase that was coined by the actress Maureen Lipman in BT's award winning telephone commercials in 1990's and it is a phrase that is also the basis of counselling therapy. Talking about your problems to someone who will listen and appreciate and empathise with you, enables you to start to open up at a deep level inside and start the process of acceptance, change and ultimately healing.

How can I help you?

As your counsellor I offer you a safe place where you can talk in complete confidence. A place where you will be heard and understood. I promise to be totally present with you, to listen to you with empathy and respect and to help you gain new skills and insights that will help you to create the changes you want.

What to expect at a first session

I work in a flexible way and during our first session we will talk about the issues that have made you seek therapy. A first session can be a double length session and may include relaxation techniques if desired. It is a time to start exploring issues and create some goals for your therapy.

Further sessions will normally last about 55 minutes at weekly intervals or as agreed at the first consultation. For many clients between 3 - 8 sessions will be enough however progress is monitored regularly and more or less sessions will be agreed on depending on progress. Sometimes just one session will enable you to start making changes.

I offer you years of experience together with commitment and a passion to help you overcome your problems and create a harmonious life balance and the goals and dreams that you want to achieve.

I always aim to offer a safe comfortable environment where you will feel relaxed and valued. I am registered with the BACP and adhere strictly to their guidelines.  Complete confidentiality is assured.

I offer a free 20 minute phone or FaceTime consultation to answer any questions you may have and help you make up your mind about whether this therapy is right for you. Please feel free to contact me to find out more or arrange a consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
