Profile

Are you finding life difficult or stressful?  Are you feeling unhappy, mixed up or stuck?  Maybe you are not even sure what is troubling you or what you need.  You feel things need to change but it’s hard to know where to begin.

I will work with you to explore your concerns without judging or criticising.  I will listen to your individual and very personal concerns with the aim of understanding your situation and helping you to find peace of mind.

Taking that first step to meet a counsellor requires courage; I understand this and aim to make it as easy as possible.

You do not need a Doctors referral - just get in contact directly to make an arrangement for an initial appointment.

In the counselling sessions you can explore various aspects of your life and feelings, talking about them in a way that is rarely possible with friends or family.  Bottled up feelings of anger, anxiety, grief, guilt and embarrassment can become very intense and overwhelming.  Counselling offers an opportunity to identify and explore your feelings, allowing better understanding and correction if required.

I work as part of a group of three integrative counsellors (ALL Counselling) offering friendly, confidential, face to face counselling. We are all passionate about helping people to achieve their goals and to live happier and more fulfilling lives.  We can offer you one-to-one counselling time in a safe, confidential setting where you can explore your feelings, your choices and priorities. We will respect your personal needs as you explore the issues you are facing.  This will be achieved at your pace.

Through ALL Counselling I can offer counselling from various locations in Northumberland which currently include Ponteland, Morpeth, Prudhoe and Hexham.  Sessions are normally weekly to begin with and we can have an informal initial meeting so that you can decide if our approach is right for you.

If I cannot see you at a time to suit you, or if you feel that your issue falls into the specialist area of one of my colleagues, then I may suggest that you see either Lesley or Lynn instead of me.  The choice to avail of this option is, of course, completely under your control.

Training, Qualifications & Experience

I am qualified as a Person-Centred Counsellor to Foundation Degree level.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and work to their Code of Ethics.

While at college I met Lesley Lovell and Lynn Armstrong and decided to work in partnership with them (as ALL Counselling) to provide a strong team for our clients.  We have each completed a variety of other training courses to help us help you e.g. Domestic Abuse Awareness and Training, Group Facilitation, Sex Therapy, Trauma, Cruse - Awareness in Bereavement Care, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Therapy, Play Therapy.

Working in conjunction with others allows us to provide more sessions at times to suit you, in a variety of locations.

Each of us has specialist areas of interest.  My interest is in relationships so that is where I have focused my extra training.  Lynn specialises in bereavement and living with life limiting illnesses.  Lesley has done a lot of work with children and young people.

All of us at ALL Counselling have worked in GP practices and elsewhere gaining a wide breath of experience.
