Counsellor Profile
I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist working with individuals, couples and families.
My experience is in offering counselling and psychotherapy services to a GP surgery, voluntary organisations, the NHS, and in private practice. I have undertaken family therapy within a regional NHS psychological service.
I have a personal commitment to working with people from all walks of life, ages, sexual orientation and ethnicity.
I counsel individuals, couples and families who want to explore difficulties in their lives. My approach enables my clients to understand better how to make changes by overcoming difficult past experiences and relationship problems in the present.

Diploma in Social Work (CQSW) 1987
Certificate in Groupwork 1996
Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy 2001
MA in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy 2003
I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy and I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I am also a member of the Hallam Institute for Psychotherapy
My work is confidential and regulated by the Codes of Ethics of both the professional organisations.

Supervision of trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists
My core model is psychodynamic/psychoanalytic. I also have training in other models such as TA, Person Centred and Gestalt. My family work is based on the systemic model.

I offer family therapy using the 'lifespan' systemic model. I work with family groups comprising all adults, or adults and children (up to 4 people), where relationships have become problematic.
Fees
Individuals: £38 per session
Couples: £65 per session
Family Therapy: £80 per session
Supervision: £40 per hour
Concessionary fees are available to individuals on benefits and for students/trainees.
Extra Information
I offer long and short term counselling and psychotherapy. I am available for appointments in the daytime and evening; I can be flexible about session times.
My approach is to work in partnership with my clients to support the gaining of insights that enable improvement in the quality of life.
I welcome enquiries by email or phone. I believe that it is important for the success of counselling/therapeutic work to feel trust and security with the counsellor/therapist as well as confidence in the training and expertise of the person. Initial face-to-face consultation is offered without obligation.
