I was abused by my father when I was a child. It was only with the encouragement of my therapist that I was able to face the issues that has raised in adult life - depression, anxiety, low self esteem etc. It takes time to find a therapist who is right for you - it took me three attempts to find the right person! Now I finally have someone to tell things to that I feel I don't want to share with anyone else. My therapist's room offers a safe place where I can explore things that I've never felt able to explore before. I've been seeing my therapist for nearly two years now, she has really helped me and allows me to text her when I'm feeling panicky... a support system which has been vital for me.
