About me
If you are ready to make positive changes, I will journey with you to work through and understand the issues and factors that have led you to counselling. This will be done with unconditional positive regard and a complete lack of judgement. Once we understand where these come from we will explore the kind of changes you wish to make. Against the background of Transactional Analysis, (TA), we can seek, understand and facilitate change.
I hold a practice in Winchester called 'Peace Counselling' with my friend and colleague, Kellie Stanness Witcher. We share the same vision and belief that excellent therapeutic practice can make an empowering difference to people's lives.
I will work with you at your pace and together we might seek to heal the hurts of the past and bring about the changes that you wish to make..

My degree in Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy uses the modality of Transactional Analysis (TA). I believe that it provides an excellent framework to explore issues, both past and present. It allows for a process, in which clients can address their concerns and achieve their goals.
I have previously worked in secondary and tertiary educational leadership roles. Enabling positive change in the lives of others has brought me great happiness and has led me towards counselling.
I really believe that counselling can enable positive change for people.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have lots of experience working with students and young adults covering a wide range of issues. Everything and anything that is explored is done so in a safe, accepting and client centered environment.
As a counsellor I believe it to be my privilege to work with individuals on their journey of healing and growth. I am a husband, a dad, a brother and a son and I find that I am still learning in each of these roles. I believe in compassion, healing and humility.
I have studied and taught Philosophy, Theology, Classics, History and Sociology. Each of these subjects have inspired me greatly. Yet, it is Counselling, when undertaken with openess and honesty, that inspires me the most and that can enable the most profound and sustainable of changes.
